Try it Out – Chapter 10

Try it Out

🔐 Integrity Tip:

Just because it’s on a screen doesn’t mean it’s temporary. Be mindful of how you communicate digitally—many virtual platforms record meetings, store chats, and track participation. Always assume your words live longer than you think.

🔮Future Connection:

You’ll apply these skills again in Chapters 11 and 14 when we explore teamwork, hybrid collaboration tools, and the future of work. Building strong habits now—like on-camera presence, chat tone, and managing virtual energy—sets you up for successful, inclusive leadership in digital spaces. And remember what you practiced in Chapter 3 about clarity and tone? Those foundations are even more important when your message is delivered through a screen instead of face-to-face.

Each chapter, has a corresponding AI-supported learning activity designed to help you engage more deeply with the concepts. These assignments are hosted in Canvas and follow a structured, iterative process using a provided template. You’ll use AI tools to:

  • Explore and clarify key ideas from the chapter
  • Practice applying concepts to real-world or professional scenarios
  • Reflect on your learning and refine your understanding through guided prompts

This assignment is an opportunity to build your confidence in using AI as a collaborative learning partner. It will help you develop critical thinking, communication, and digital literacy skills essential for success in modern business environments.

    2. Revise a Virtual Communication Artifact
Students will choose between a vague calendar invite or a passive-aggressive Slack message and prompt AI to revise it. They’ll evaluate the AI’s suggestions and reflect on what worked—and what needed human refinement.
    3. Improve the AI Output for Clarity and Leadership
Using Track Changes, students will refine the AI-generated message to improve tone, structure, and clarity. A short reflection will connect their edits to real-world virtual leadership and team communication scenarios.
