Try it Out – Chapter 11

Try it Out

🔐 Integrity Tip:

When collaborating with AI in a shared doc, never share team or company names, confidential details, or private comments. Practice respectful digital hygiene—it builds trust just like in real-life teams.

🔮Future Connection:

This assignment echoes what you explored in Chapters 1 and 6: clarity and feedback are foundational for teams. In future chapters (like Chapter 12 on leadership), you’ll see how these skills translate into vision-setting and influence. For now, focus on being the teammate everyone wishes they had—clear, accountable, and collaborative.

Each chapter, has a corresponding AI-supported learning activity designed to help you engage more deeply with the concepts. These assignments are hosted in Canvas and follow a structured, iterative process using a provided template. You’ll use AI tools to:

  • Explore and clarify key ideas from the chapter
  • Practice applying concepts to real-world or professional scenarios
  • Reflect on your learning and refine your understanding through guided prompts

This assignment is an opportunity to build your confidence in using AI as a collaborative learning partner. It will help you develop critical thinking, communication, and digital literacy skills essential for success in modern business environments.

  • AI Practice Assignment Preview: Chapter 11 – Team Communication and Collaboration

This week’s assignment focuses on improving team communication through collaborative writing, shared responsibilities, and digital workflows. Students will use AI to evaluate and revise a messy meeting transcript, transforming it into a clear, actionable summary that supports trust, accountability, and team success.

    Learning Objective

    Students will:

    • Use AI to support team communication and collaboration
    • Evaluate and revise shared documents for clarity and structure
    • Apply business communication strategies to improve digital workflows

    Assignment Flow

    1. Explore AI’s Role in Team Collaboration
Students will prompt an AI tool to explain how AI can support team communication, including examples related to shared documents, meeting summaries, and decision-making. They’ll critique the AI’s response for relevance and alignment with chapter concepts.
    2. Revise a Team Meeting Transcript
Students will analyze a chaotic transcript from a team check-in and prompt AI to summarize it with clear action items, responsibilities, and follow-up needs. They’ll evaluate the AI’s summary and reflect on its usefulness for team members who missed the meeting.
    3. Make the Summary Team-Worthy
Using Track Changes, students will refine the AI-generated summary to improve tone, structure, and clarity. A short reflection will connect their edits to real-world collaboration challenges and strategies.
