Try it Out – Chapter 5

Try it Out

🔐 Integrity Tip:

Don’t ask AI to write a full speech or presentation and submit it as your own. Use it like a co-writer—not a ghostwriter. Build the structure, then enhance it with AI.

🔮Future Connection:

In Chapter 10, you’ll build a virtual presentation. Starting now with strong story elements will give you a serious edge when it’s time to go live on Zoom (or Teams… or some platform that hasn’t been invented yet).

Each chapter, has a corresponding AI-supported learning activity designed to help you engage more deeply with the concepts. These assignments are hosted in Canvas and follow a structured, iterative process using a provided template. You’ll use AI tools to:

  • Explore and clarify key ideas from the chapter
  • Practice applying concepts to real-world or professional scenarios
  • Reflect on your learning and refine your understanding through guided prompts

This assignment is an opportunity to build your confidence in using AI as a collaborative learning partner. It will help you develop critical thinking, communication, and digital literacy skills essential for success in modern business environments.

👉 To begin, go to the corresponding module in Canvas and open the “Weekly AI Assignment” for this chapter.

  • AI Practice Assignment Preview: Chapter 5 – Story-Driven Presentations

This week’s assignment focuses on transforming dry, data-heavy presentations into compelling, story-driven messages. Students will use AI to evaluate and revise a business presentation script, applying storytelling principles to improve engagement, clarity, and emotional resonance.

    Learning Objective

    Students will:

    • Apply storytelling principles to business presentations
    • Use AI to revise and enhance presentation messaging
    • Strengthen narrative structure and audience engagement

    Assignment Flow

    1. Explore Storytelling in Presentations with AI
Students will prompt an AI tool to explain why storytelling matters in business presentations and how to structure a presentation like a story. They’ll critique the response for clarity, relevance, and alignment with chapter concepts.
    2. Revise a Sales Presentation Script
Students will analyze a flat Q3 sales update and prompt AI to revise it using storytelling techniques. They’ll evaluate the AI’s suggestions and identify what’s missing or needs improvement to create a compelling narrative.
    3. Refine the AI Output for Impact
Using Track Changes, students will edit the AI-generated script to clarify the hook, improve pacing, and personalize tone. A short reflection will connect their edits to real-world presentation scenarios.
