Description: This unit explores how culture, geography, & religion shape human behavior & beliefs. We examine how different influences create unique cultural perspectives while also investigating processes of cultural change & adaptation. Through studying these forces, we develop a deeper understanding of how people navigate between cultural traditions & modern influences, including how they form their sense of self & identity.

Understanding cultural differences & adaptation prepares you for practical applications across multiple settings:

• Clinical/Counseling: Recognize how geography, religion, & acculturation experiences shape client worldviews; understand cultural factors that influence identity development & psychological adjustment
